The International Award for Young People, The Netherlands hold their first Gold Award ceremony of the year

On 29 March 2014 The International Award for Young People, The Netherlands held their first Gold Award ceremony of the year. 36 Gold Awards were presented to participants from across The Netherlands. The ceremony, held at the International School of the Hague, took place in the presence of Prince Guillaume, Patron of the Benelux Award and HE Sir Geoffrey Adams KCMG, Ambassador for the UK in The Netherlands.
During the ceremony participants were given the opportunity to tell attendees what they had learned and experienced while completing their Awards. Participants Daphne Donkers and Kristel van der Voort presented a video of their gold expedition in Kenya and the day ended with a beautiful piano piece performed by Sanne Jorna, who had learnt the piece especially for the ceremony. There was also a special cake presented to celebrate the Opmeer Award Unit’s 10th anniversary. The next Gold Award Ceremony will take place on 1 May 2014, with a further 34 participants due to receive their Awards.
