With help from our Friends

Margaret Fountain, Global Benefector for the Award with Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, Chief Executive of the National Youth Authority in Ghana

The prestigious private bank Coutts and Co. opened the doors of its beautiful Garden Court to 150 of our most generous supporters on Thursday 18th April. Munificently sponsored by Michael Morley, Coutts' CEO, the evening provided a glorious occasion for us to offer our greatest thanks to the many individuals and organisations who enable us to make an impact on young people's lives worldwide by supporting the Award.

The Friends programme

Amongst guests in attendance were Bronze, Silver and Gold Friends of the Award. The Friends programme is our way of recognising and thanking all of our donors whose support is between £1,000 and £100,000 through grants, donations, gifts-in-kind or discounted services. Gifts of in-kind support saved the Award over £800,000 last year alone. Silver and Gold Friends were presented with certificates at the Reception, Gold Friends receiving theirs from HRH The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO, and all guests were given an update of our work by our Secretary General, John May.

Welcoming our Global Benefactor

Further celebrations of the evening were in honour of our new Global Benefactor, Margaret Fountain, whose generous financial contribution will enable us to leave a lasting legacy with real and measurable impact on the communities the Award supports. Margaret was presented with a framed certificate by HRH The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO, and gave a very touching speech about her personal feelings toward the Award:

Margaret Fountain, new Global Benefactor for the Award"I am a fervent believer in the potential that exists within every young person. The Award programme equips young people for life and when they find their voice, they are able to change the world."

Following the reception, Michael Morley kindly sponsored an intimate dinner with sixteen guests in the directors' private dining room. Our Global Partners who attended this dinner were given a guided tour before sitting down to an exquisite three-course meal hosted by the Coutts and Co. CEO and attended by HRH The Earl of Wessex.

We would like to thank everybody who attended the Reception, our sponsor Michael Morley, as well as Grace Belgravia spa and G Collins & Sons jewellers and watchmakers for providing goody bags for our guests, and everybody who supports the Award.
