A partnership between the Commonwealth Youth Programme and the Award in the Solomon Islands has seen young unemployed people participating in a micro-financing initiative that has provided vital skills to help them get jobs.

In an area where youth unemployment rates are as high as 50%, the Youth Leadership and Finance Project (Y-FIN) is incredibly valuable, allowing young people to set up and run short-term income generating businesses.

In this video, Award Leader and Y-FIN coordinator Theresa Keninakua describes the positive impact the Award has had on her life, as well as the lives of her participants.
