The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award (the Award) is the world’s leading youth achievement award, equipping young people for life and work. Annually, more than one million young people take part in the Award in over 130 countries and territories. The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation’s (the Foundation) role is to support the delivery and growth of the Award through provision of guidance and support to Independent Award Centres (IACs) and National Award Operators (NAOs) within the 130 countries and territories.
Supporting activities in so many countries and territories means that our service provisions need to be efficient and cost effective. As we move towards providing our Operators with a suite of central services to support their growth, we need an Application Support Analyst who will have sound understanding and be able to effectively communicate current and future organisational needs in relation to IT business systems. They will be responsible for the provision of efficient and timely support of the Foundation's Online Record Book (ORB)* platform to colleagues based in the UK and overseas.
Who we are looking for:
The post-holder will be responsible for responding to support requests by telephone, email and in person, logging the query details in the appropriate systems, and either resolving the query or escalating to the appropriate third party service provider/developer. Due to the global nature of the ORB system there will on occasion be the need to work outside of normal UK working hours (ie early morning / late evening).
The substantive part of this role is to provide application support for the ORB. A secondary part of this role is to provide general IT support for the Foundation's internal IT systems, both hardware and software, and where appropriate provide training to users either in person or using distance training methods (eg web conferencing). In addition the post-holder will be expected to participate in IT projects and assist with any other tasks as required.
