Two years of exciting international events are marking two extraordinary milestones for the International Award. A series of 21 World-Fellowship led fundraising events over a two-year period will link the 21st anniversary celebrations of the World Fellowship (June 2008) and The International Award Association (November 2009). Funds raised from the events themselves will help to secure the financial sustainability of the Association and the regionalisation process. Monies raised through the recruitment of new World Fellows will help to ensure the Association's goal to reach one million active participants by the end of the decade is achieved.

Each event will be hosted by a World Fellow or Young Fellow of the World Fellowship. The host must meet the challenge of securing at least one new World Fellow (or three new Young Fellows) and reaching a minimum fundraising target of £21,000.

To honour these celebrations, an Award scroll will be passed from event to event. As it makes its two-year journey around the world, it will be signed by all host Fellows, until it reaches its final destination when it will be signed by HRH The Earl of Wessex in Sydney in November 2009. A copy of this unique memento will be given to each host Fellow when they attend, as guests of honour, the Association's 21st Celebratory Gala Dinner at the Sydney Forum in 2009.

We are delighted to be presenting this series of global celebrations, and send all of our hosts our best wishes as they take part in this exciting fundraising initiative.
