Europe, Mediterranean & Arab States
The Europe, Mediterranean and Arab States (EMAS) Region stretches from the westernmost point on the European continent, up to the colder climes of the Nordic states, continuing East over the Russian Federation, and down to the hotter climes of the Arabian peninsular. In this mixing bowl of cultures, languages and traditions, young people are united by the desire to make a better world for themselves and their communities through the International Award Programme.
There are 15 countries in the EMAS Region in which the Award operates on a national basis. There are a further 29 countries in which the Award is present and some of these are working towards developing the Award in their country on a national basis. All in all, there is an Award presence in 60% of the countries in the EMAS Region.
